Salvation Questions Parents Forget to Ask Their Kids

As parents, we sometimes assume our kids know about the salvation message that Jesus offers us, particularly if your taking them to church regularly.  We take for granted that they have heard it before and therefor, must know it.

Have you check with your kids lately?

However, you might be surprised at what you hear.

I know my own kids have been studying their multiplication tables for over four years now, and they still don't know them.  At the start of every year it's like they have completely forgotten about 75% of them over the summer.

So what's my point?

My point is that even though we teach, and reteach, in what seems like a hundred different ways, we just have to keep teaching the salvation message of Jesus Christ to our kids.

I, myself am always finding deeper revelation within the saving grace of Christ. And, I truly believe that no matter how old you are you can always learn more about what it means to be saved and a child of the most high God.

Keep talking, keep praying, and keep slaying what ever is trying to block your child from understanding the love of Christ!!

Why You Need To Talk to Your Children About Their Salvation: The Truth Seeker's Dream

The Lord spoke to me about this very thing in a dream that I share below.  In it are the 3 important questions parents need to know if their kids know the answers to.

I dreamed of a country that allowed child slavery.  God showed me children that had been enslaved at a very young age, 2-3 years old, some right from birth.

Then He showed me some of these children being set free.  The children were now around the ages of 9-12 years old.  Once these children were free they were very happy to have found freedom but, yet they still had a sense of sadness.

I seen them walking and they came across the path of a woman.  They asked her if she could help them find their real families.

The woman did not know these children so, she had no answers for them.  So she started to ask them questions that might help her give them the answers they were looking for.  But, the children were not able to answer any of her questions.

The questions she asked were these:

  1. Where they were from - which town?
  2. What was their father's name?
  3. Who set them free?

The Children had no answers for this woman so, she told them he was unable to help them find their home.  The children then left the woman and continued on their journey looking for the answers to these questions.

What Does This Mean

I asked God what this meant and the Holy Spirit revealed this to me.

  • These children represent all the children who don't know where they come from.  (Heaven) John 17:14-15   I have given them the word. And the world hates them because they do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to the world. I'm not asking you to take then it, but to keep them from the evil one.

  • They don't know who their true father is.  (Father God) 2 Corinthians 6:18  "And I will be your Father, and you will be my sons and daughters. says the Lord Almighty."

  • They don't know who has set them free from slavery.  (Jesus Christ) John 8:36 So, if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.

Why What You Know Matters

I want to point out what I thought was a very important point within this dream.  The woman desperately wanted to help these children but, she too, did not have any answers to these questions for the children.

This is a reminder to us mom's how important it is to be rock solid in our own salvation!  And, to know what the answers to these question are in order to teach them to our children.

Questions for Parents

  1. How will your kids know where they are from, if you don't share it with them?
  2. How will your kids know their Father is, if you don't keep telling them?
  3. How will your kids know who can set the free from all slavery, if you don't teach them about their saviour?

As parents, we cannot just leave the answers to these very important questions in the hands of others!  It's not up to Sunday School teachers, Pastors, or anybody else.  It is up to parents to answer these question.

Keep checking with your kids to see exactly what it is they are thinking about concerning their salvation in Christ Jesus.  You want to make sure that their math is correct  1+1+1=1:).  You know, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are One!
